Peanut Allergy

Flippin' Sweet eh? LUCKILY, it's wasn't a severe allergy (this time around). Could have fooled me. I think a puking child shoving her hands down her throat and gagging constantly is pretty severe. But her throat didn't completely swell up, her eyes are swollen, her tounge and mouth are swollen and the poor kid can barely talk. Maybe if she had more than a few bites it would have.

Note to parents even if no one in your entire family has a peanut allergy (which is the case here).... the first time your child tries peanut butter (or peanuts/nuts), at the very least have a bottle of children's Benadryl on hand! Catching every red light on the way to Walgreens while your child is having a bad reaction to peanut butter is a rather frantic journey (says the wife).

I'm happy to report that about 20 minutes after the dose of Benadryl, the Bean is back to normal attitude wise. Still a little puffy in the face....

Images after the inital reaction and she calmed down are below. Since she was playing on her own I figured it'd be safe to snap a few pictures while Mom was on a Benadryl run.
